Fisher-Price, Inc. originated the toy brand in the 1960s as the "Play Family People." The name "Little People" came later from the fact that many consumers referred to the early Play Family playsets as "those little people." It was trademarked by Mattel and Fisher-Price in 1985. Today, you'll find Little People themed to variety of pop-culture favorites such as Disney's Frozen, Toy Story, and Princesses, as well as Barbie, DC Comics, TV shows, movies, everyday living, and more.
