Peter Pan is a character created by Scottish novelist and playwright J. M. Barrie (1860–1937). His story was adapted into an animated feature film in 1953 by Walt Disney, and was the final Disney film in which all 9 members of Disney's Nine Old Men worked together as directing animators. A mischievous boy who flies and magically refuses to grow up, Peter Pan spends his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland as the leader of his gang, the Lost Boys, interacting with fairies and pirates, and from time to time meeting ordinary children from the world outside.
