LEGO Pirates
Pirates is a LEGO theme launched in 1989 that features pirates, soldiers, islanders, and sailing ships. In 1997, the last few Lego System Pirate sets were released. The theme's end came as a shock to fans, because the Pirates line had always been a big seller. During the end of 2008, LEGO reintroduced Lego Pirates for 2009 in minifig scale for the 1st time since 1997, just in time for the theme's 20th anniversary.
