| | | Thor | | The God of Thunder decrees that you purchase his merchandise for your family and friends... and for you. Kindly make your selection from these action figures, T-shirts, graphic novels, film cells, and much more. If you do, the gods (not to mention the recipients) will be pleased and smile upon you. If you don't, there's the matter of the big guy's Mjolnir hammer, and let's not go there!
Thor is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by editor-plotter Stan Lee, the character first appears in Journey into Mystery #83 (August 1962) and is based on the god of the same name from Norse mythology. Thor's father, Odin, decides his son needs to be taught humility, and consequently places Thor (without memories of godhood) into the body and memories of an existing partially disabled human medical student, Donald Blake. The mortal experience shapes Thor into an honorable and courteous individual who's loyal to all comrades.
The 2011 Thor feature film was directed by Kenneth Branagh, with Chris Hemsworth in the title role.
