The Korean conflict saw the introduction of the legendary Mikoyan-Gurevich 15, better known as the MiG-15. Capable of operating at higher altitudes and having better climb performance than the Sabre, the MiG-15 was a potent adversary. Operating from bases in Manchuria also allowed the MiG greater time in combat owing to less fuel restrictions.
