During the 1940’s, as the Japanese forces expanded their influence throughout the Pacific, they continued to confront British and Commonwealth Forces in many theatres. There are several memorable campaigns during these times and amongst them was the battle for control of Burma and its capital, Rangoon. It was here in 1944 where the myth of Japanese invincibility was finally destroyed as they were forced to pull back in defeat.
