Apple Seed Figure & DVD Set:The "Apple Seed" Action Figure / DVD Set! Includes: 1x Gartham, 1x Briareos, 1x ORC. Each six inch tall action figure is packaged with a special DVD which contains 1/3 of a new story written specifically for the action figure. Collect all three figures to see the entire story.
World War Three has come and gone, seriously depleting the human race. One island has risen to power in the world, Olympus, with it's wonders of technology and artificial humans 'bioroids'. It sets out to be a utopia yet all is not well in this new world. From the 'Badlands' (deserted cities outside of control of other governments), Deunan Knute and her companion, Briareos, are recruited by the Olympus ESWAT force to combat terrorism. Deunan and Briareos prove to be an invaluable duo as they seek to adapt to their new surrounds, questioning the state of their world as they learn more about their new home.
Released as both a manga a 68 minute OAV. Story and artwork is by one of Japan's best artists and storytellers, Masamune Shirow. Currently four volumes of Appleseed manga have been released in Japan, with part of the fifth appearing in a "Comic Gaia" compilation. Four of these volumes were translated by Dark Horse and are readily available in graphic novel form.
