The all-volunteer Rangers have been defending America's freedom since before the Revolutionary War and up to the present day. Their motto "Rangers Lead the Way!" attests to the high level of readiness that is demanded of them, making them able at a moment's notice to deploy anywhere in the world.
As their creed states, they are elite soldiers who arrive at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea or air, and will fight with unrelenting fortitude until the mission is complete. One of the standard weapons in the Rangers' arsenal is the M249 SAWS (Squad Automatic Weapon System) machine gun. SAWS gunners typically move out with 600 rounds of ammunition, 200 in an assault pack attached to the weapon, and two additional 200-round assault packs on their web gear
