Along with his snickering sidekick-pooch Muttley, Dick Dastardly first appeared in the Hanna-Barbera cartoon Wacky Racers. In what seems to be an endless race across the world, the despicable ne'er-do-well used his dreadful deeds to try to outwit the other Wacky Racers. A motley crew of kooky characters provided his racing competition. The likes of Pat Pending, Red Max, The Gruesome Twosome, and Clyde and the Anthill Mob were just some of the amusing names that made up this eccentric gang of dragsters. His archnemesis Peter Perfect and gal-pal Penelope Pitstop provided Dastardly and Mutley the flawless foil, in pursuit of the title of "Worlds Wackiest Racer."
