Inspired by the acclaimed Superman animated shorts of the 1940s created by the Fleischer Studios, this maquette celebrates a true milestone in the art of animation. This authentically sculpted maquette captures Superman standing for Truth and Justice in his classic pose. Sculpted by John G. Mathews. This limited edition, hand-painted cold-cast porcelain maquette is packaged in a multi box. Limited Edition of 2,500 pieces. (Subject to change.)
Nostalgia buffs will remember that Fleischer Studios ran 17 Superman short cartoons from 1941-1943, which became very popular, as the idea of a "super-man" was very new to an audience who was used to Tarzan and Doc Savage.
