Iron Man Marvel Maquette Description:
The Iron Man Marvel Maquette is the fifth piece in this line of artist-reference statues from Diamond Select. Standing just over 8-inches tall, this maquette is covered in a metallic paint, giving it an authentic "iron" finish, and has all the detail that fans have come to expect. Sculpted by Oliver Brig and limited to 2,000 pieces, Iron Man features a hand-numbered base with matching hand-numbered box and certificate of authenticity. Anthony Stark was traveling in Vietnam when a piece of shrapnel lodged into his heart after a mine accident. The shrapnel, which should have killed Stark, triggered an idea. Stark created a suit of iron which would keep his heart beating as well as control several exterior weapons - thus creating Iron Man.
