The cute and "beyond the normal" Asahina Mikuru appears in the Japanese anime Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, which is about a group of high school freshmen and the antics they face while trying to discover new aliens and time travelers. At the command of Haruhi Suzumiya, Mikuru-chan is forced into a skimpy pink maid outfit for the school festival to attract hormone-driven guys to their cafe. Needless to say, the thought of Mikuru-chan in a skimpy maid outfit was too hard to resist for the guys, including Kyon.
