Star Wars The Collector's Shelf Limited-Edition Giclee Description:
The original oil painting by Yishai Minkin, which is reproduced here, is an example of trompe l'oeil, a painting rendered insuch great detail as to deceive the viewer concerning its reality. This limited-edition giclée print on canvas captures the fun and artistry of a selection of original Star Wars memorabilia, mostly from the late 1970s, when Star Wars first became a major "force" in character merchandising. Action figures areprominently featured as the most popular category of Star Wars collectibles, and included here are some of the very firstStar Wars action figures. Showcased merchandise also includes a Chewbacca figural mug, a 1978 battery-operated toothbrush, a Han Solo tradingcard, and X-wing fighter and Millennium Falcon die-cast vehicles. The Official Star Wars Fan Club is represented by a 1978sew-on patch and a portrait button featuring Princess Leia. Also pictured: an R2-D2 ceramic cookie jar, the first edition ofthe Star Wars novelization, originally released in 1976, a Star Wars belt buckle and a 1977 Burger King drinking glass. This select group of rare Star Wars merchandise captures the unique characters and exciting storytelling of one of themost popular movie series in history. This image was created using the fine art printing process of color reproduction known as giclée. In this process, a digitalscan is taken of the original painting and it is printed by spraying millions of pixel-sized drops of ink per second ontopremium-quality, acid-free canvas with an enhanced printer, specially modified for fine art reproduction. This processcreates a first-generation "print" from the digital source. The result is a dynamic portrait of the high-quality product celebrating the characters who for decades have blastedaudiences off to "a galaxy far, far away." This limited edition deep-stretched canvas print measures 18 x 26-inches.
