Why all the sad faces? Inspired by
The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories by Tim Burton, this set includes 3 painted 4-inch PVC figures: Boy With Nails In His Eyes, Oyster Boy, and Junk Girl. (Subject to change.) Packaged in a full-color window box, each strange character stands on its own thematic base. Have a heart and accept these children with defects into your home.
For Halloween, Oyster Boy decided to go as a human.
Boy with Nails in His Eyes put up his aluminum tree. It looks pretty weird because he couldn't really see what he was doing.
Junk Girl:
There once was a girl who was made up of junk.
She looked really dirty and she smelled like a skunk.
She was always unhappy or in one of her slumps;
perhaps she spent too much time down in the dumps.
The only bright moment was from a fellow named Stan.
He was from the neighborhood garbage can man.
He loved her a lot and made a marriage proposal,
but she had already dived into the garbage disposal.
The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories by Tim Burton is a book of poems that tells the stories of children with various defects. The tales of half-robot hybrids, spontaneous transformers, and women who have babies to win men range in tone from depressing to humorous, and sometimes both at the same time.
Stain Boy, Roy the Toxic Boy, Robot Boy, Match Girl, Staring Girl, and other characters from the book later appeared in a series of short Flash cartoons directed by Tim Burton, titled Stainboy.
