Description

Mickey Mouse Steamboat Willie Stone Artwork:

  • Steamboat Willie!
  • Incredible Walt Disney Signature Stone mosaic!
  • Wall art measures 18-inches wide x 14-inches tall.
  • Limited edition of 100 pieces worldwide.
Walt Disney once stated, "I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse." Well, that mouse "started" (or more accurately, "debuted") with the first public image of Mickey whistling a tune and spinning the steering wheel as Steamboat Willie in 1928. Steamboat Willie has been recreated here in this one-of-a-kind 18-inch wide x 14-inch tall Walt Disney Signature Stone Steamboat Willie Stone Wall Art Mosaic that's a limited edition of 100 pieces worldwide.

This amazing mural is inspired by classic Mickey Mouse comic strip material. Marble/Stone by Artwork Partners is the forefront of the modern renaissance of Pietre Dure - the ancient technique of using cut and fitted stones for murals. It's made from highly polished, fine-quality, natural and synthetic materials. Semi-precious stones and sumptuous woods and leathers were used in production of the mural. Each Walt Disney Signature Stone mural is a one-of-a-kind original in an incredibly limited run, due to the exclusive nature of the materials and the process used to make these stunning works of art.

Pietre Dure is a mosaic technique or more specifically, a type of stone marquetry that originated in Rome and later reached its zenith in Florence, Italy in the 1600s and 1700s. It's sometimes called Florentine Mosaic. Marble and many other types of semi-precious stones are carved and cut into small pieces. These small pieces are fitted together with no visible interstices (joints between the pieces) to make a painting that depicts landscapes or other subjects from the world. The texture of the stone mimics that found in nature: clouds, mountains, or leaves and flowers. Pietre Dure also means hard or durable stones.
