Reproduced from screen-filmed props, this stellar replica represents the actual communicator badges that were worn on the
Star Trek TV shows. Constructed of resin and hand painted, it features a double-sided velcro with adhesive backing for application to your favorite Starfleet uniform. Measures about 2-inches tall x 1 1/2-inches wide.
In Star Trek: The Next Generation and later series, the crew wore small communicator badges on their left breast. These devices are in the shape of the Starfleet Insignia, and are activated with a light tap. They also incorporate the universal translator. The Combadge, in the shape of the Starfleet Insignia, was worn on the Starfleet uniform during the 2360s. The first version of the communicator badge was used throughout the TNG series and during the first two seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
