Game of Thrones 1/2 Dragon of Daenerys Targaryen Mark Type 1 (Mint) Coin:The golded Game of Thrones 1/2 Dragon of Daenerys Targaryen Mark Type 1 (Mint) Coin is struck on hand-engraved steel dies in solid cartridge brass at Shire Post Mint to emulate the large-denomination coin that would be common among the well-off of Essos. It features the head of Daenerys on the obverse, with her three dragons and the words "DAENERYS TARGARYEN - QUEEN OF MEEREEN." On the reverse you'll find the stepped pyramid with broken chain symbol of freeing the slaves, and the words "BREAKER OF CHAINS - ONE MARK." The coin measures about 1 1/10-inches in diameter (about the size of a Sacagawea dollar coin) and weighs 6 grams.
As Queen of Meereen, Daenerys issues this golden mark to proclaim, once and for all, her hatred of slavery in all its forms. The obverse features her stern visage, surrounded by her three dragons; Drogon stands above with his mouth agape, with Rhaegal and Viserion beside her.
Daenerys Targaryen, known as Daenerys Stormborn and Daeny, is one of the last confirmed members of House Targaryen, along with her brother Viserys, and she is one of the major POV characters in A Song of Ice and Fire. In the television adaptation Game of Thrones, Daenerys is played by Emilia Clarke.
Daeny is one of the principal characters throughout the story cycle of A Song of Ice and Fire. We follow her adventures from timid young girl to warrior queen. She is magically not burned by fire, and survives the funeral pyre of her late husband, Khal Drogo, hatching three dragons from eggs placed in the pyre with her. They are the first dragons seen in hundreds of years, earning her the title "Mother of Dragons." With the help of her dragons and devoted followers, she proceeds to conquer vast swathes of territory in Essos, freeing many slaves from bondage and earning another title: "Breaker of Chains."
