Created in 2010 by Claire Belton and Andrew Duff for a comic strip on their website, "Everyday Cute," this popular cartoon kitty has become the subject of comic strips and sticker sets on Facebook, plus a wealth of cute merchandise. Her official website describes her as a female domestic shorthair that's grey and tabby. The original comic strip included characters modeled after Belton, Duff, their dog named Care, and Pusheen, a chubby grey tabby cat based on Belton's pet that lives with her parents in Oregon. The name stems from the Irish word puisín, which means kitten.
