Josh Gibson Historical Figurine - Homestead Greys:Often referred to as "the black Babe Ruth," Josh Gibson may have been baseball's greatest power hitter. While some of Gibson's feats may be mythical–many claimed that he was the only player ever to hit a fair ball out of Yankee Stadium–there is no disputing his talents and tremendous impact on baseball. Gibson, a catcher, was named to nine East-West All-Star teams and it is estimated that he hit over 800 home runs during his playing career. In 1972, Gibson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He was a special player, truly one of baseball's greatest talents. Upper Deck pays tribute to Gibson with this "Historical Beginnings" figurine. The figurine, which stands 12" tall, depicts Gibson in a classic pose on top of an attractive wood base. Remember this Negro Leagues great with this special "Historical Beginnings" figurine. Limited to 1200.
