Description
LAPD Patrol Officer West:From the Elite Force line comes the LAPD Patrol Officer West. Featuring a fully poseable action body, this 1/6th scale authentic collector figure includes die-cast metal weapons and accessories, and a custom expression mechanism. Accessories include Pepper spray & case, double magazine case, handcuffs key, handcuffs & case, flashlight, M92F automatic pistol, radio with case, and baton & holder.
The Los Angeles Police Department was a result of a 1853 murder. The victim, Jack Whaling, was the City Marshal. His killer met death at the hands of a bounty hunter. This prompted the City's first "Chief," Dr. A.W. Hope, to organize "The Los Angeles Rangers". These Rangers were identified by a white ribbon bearing the imprint in both English and Spanish "City Police-Authorized by the Council of Los Angeles."
The Los Angeles Police Department has been the forerunner in Law Enforcement since then. LAPD has created some of the worlds most famous programs, including the DRE (Drug Recognition Expert), DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) and SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics). Patrolling the City of Los Angeles are Police using Cars, Helicopters, Motorcycles, Bicycles, Boats and other watercraft. These Field Officers, receive over 1,000 hours of training in a 7 month Police Academy before they are assigned to the Training Officer depicted here.
