Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Release Date Changed

Warner Bros. Pictures announced a new release date for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice release date. The film has been rescheduled for release on March 25, 2016, to avoid conflict with Captain America 3. The two superhero films were slated for the same opening weekend. Batman and Superman will fight injustices six weeks sooner than the original May 6, 2016 release date.

No longer contending against Marvel Studios’ Captain America 3, the caped crusaders share their release date with Bret Ratner’s Beverly Hills Cop.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice introduces Ben Affleck as Batman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, while bringing back Man of Steel‘s Superman (Henry Cavill) and Lois Lane (Amy Adams). After worldwide success with Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice unites its title characters on the big screen for the first time.

Alongside this change in release date, Warner Bros. Pictures shared a five year plan for the release of upcoming DC Comics films. On the heels of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice come nine unnamed projects, mapped out through 2020.
