Power Rangers Set for July 2016 Release

Look out Power Rangers fans – the upcoming reboot finally has a release date!

Lionsgate and Saban have officially announced that Power Rangers will open opposite Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur on July 22, 2016!

Based on a story written by executive producer Roberto Orci and screenwriters Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller comes what some are calling a modern take on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a team of high school kids with extraterrestrial powers that save the world.

Following its introduction in 1993, Power Rangers quickly became the most-watched children’s television program in the United States, and it remains one of the top-rated and longest running live-action series in history. The show revolves around the adventures of a group of ordinary teenagers who “morph” into superheroes that save the world from evildoers.

20th Century Fox previously released two feature films, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie in 1995 and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie in 1997.

Other producers on the project include Haim Saban, Brian Casentini and Allison Shearmur.
