We recently reported that Marvel would be revealing the first Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer next Tuesday, the 28th during next week’s episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Instead, a low quality clip leaked last night – a whole six nights early! Marvel responded by releasing the full, high quality trailer, and added this witty quip to address the leak:
I’m actually quite impressed with how Marvel handled this. I think the Hydra tweet is both a witty reference for fans to enjoy and a classy way for Marvel to address an event that is surely unfortunate for them. (That S.H.I.E.L.D. time slot probably cost a pretty penny.)
If it is true that the terrorist organization involved in many stories in the Marvel Universe is at work here, all we can say is “Hail Hydra!” Sorry ABC.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
