Is Attack on Titan Getting a Post-Apocalyptic Revamp?

Attack on Titan fans, get excited! A live-action Attack on Titan movie is being made in Japan. If the spot where it’s being filmed isn’t enough of a hint, the newly released posters revealing the cast in costume reveal that it won’t be set in the manga/anime medieval-ish world it was before. Instead, the film will be set in a more modern, post-apocalyptic location.

The film will be shot on an island, located off the coast of Nagasaki. The island is officially called Hashima, but nicknamed Gunkanjima, or “Battleship Island,” because it resembles a warship in the water. The costumes also seem pretty authentic to the source material, so it’s really up in the air as to where the film is going. All we know is, we’re hyped!

The movie stars Miura Haruma as Eren, Mizuhara Kiko as Mikasa, Shu Watanabe as Fukushi, Ayame Misaki as Hiana, and Rina Takeda as Lil.

Tell us: Are you excited? What direction do you think the film will be taking? Let us know in the comments below!
