Get Ready to Bend the Knee to the IMAX Screen

If you think that HBO’s massively successful television series Game of Thrones is a cinematic masterpiece on the small screen, your dreams are about to come true.

From January 23rd-29th, the last two episodes of Season 4, as well as an exclusive trailer for the upcoming Season 5, will screen in 150 IMAX theaters across the country. While the cinematography for the series is already visually stunning and massive in scope, it will be digitally remastered to fit the IMAX format. This is the first time a television series will be shown on the silver screen.

The chief marketing officer of HBO, Pamela Levine, said this about the event:

“The cinematic brilliance and grand scope of the series is perfect for the Imax format. We are always looking to provide fans with new and exciting ways to experience the show and viewing two key episodes, along with the new trailer, on such an impressive platform makes for a great event.”

If you’re dying to visit Westeros outside the comforts of your living room, this will be a great experience for you. It will also be a nice refresher on the closing events of the last season before the next season starts. Fans will be able to purchase tickets for the event at IMAX.com in the coming weeks.

The fifth season of Game of Thrones will premiere sometime in April on HBO.

Do you want to go? How cool would it be to see Game of Thrones on the big screen during this event (and maybe even afterward too)? Let us know in the comments!
