Are you ready to relive the glory days, Nintendo fans? The Nintendo 64 console turns 20 next year and you can now play a high-definition recreation of Super Mario 64 on your computer! Watch a video for the project below.

Thanks to developer Roystan Ross, Bob-Omb Battlefield, the first level of the popular and nostalgic game, is fully playable in beautiful HD.

This is part of Ross’ Super Character Controller project for Unity.

According to Ross:

“Everything is just as you remember, except some really minor stuff that nobody cared about like red coins or the Wing Cap or the Big Bob-omb. Replacing them are crowd pleasers like giant springs and coin blocks.”

You can play online or download it for your desktop with the following operating systems: Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Ross says he doesn’t plan “to develop this any further” but you never know what could change in the future. For now, re-live the grand times of the mid-1990s where you played Super Mario 64 on the N64. I know what I’ll be doing when I get home.

What are your best memories from the N64? What’s your favorite thing about Super Mario 64? Let us know in the comments!
