One of the biggest announcements at Star Wars Celebration today was the release date and trailer for Star Wars Battlefront. Check out the awesome video below!
The upcoming video game will be available November 17, 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio, and Lucasfilm combined their forces to create this game, featuring a lot of realistic and exciting action in both iconic and new Star Wars locations.
Star Wars Battlefront Senior Producer Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir said:
“Thanks to the access and knowledge shared with us by Lucasfilm, and the passion and talent of our team, we plan to deliver an amazing game that puts you right in the middle of the Star Wars battles you always imagined playing.”
That’s exactly what this game will give fans, as you fight on planets such as Endor and Hoth, using blasters, speeder bikes, and AT-ATs. You’ll see familiar faces like Darth Vader and Boba Fett while piloting the Millennium Falcon and other iconic ships.
Perhaps most exciting is how this game will tie into Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Taking place right after Return of the Jedi, the game leads up to the next film, as players get to experience the battle which scarred the new planet Jakku which we saw in the second trailer for The Force Awakens.
There will be several different types of gameplay, including competitive multiplayer, crafted solo missions, and split-screen so you can play with a friend.
