Could We See Cyborg in The Flash/Arrow Spinoff?

The upcoming spinoff for Arrow and The Flash continues to grow its cast. After announcing the additions of Hawkgirl and Rip Hunter, another character has been added.

Attack the Block and Edge of Tomorrow’s Franz Drameh joins the cast as a character named Jay Jackson.

Here is the official description for the character:

“Jay Jackson, a former high school athlete, whose pro-career was derailed by injury. Now making ends meets as an auto mechanic, Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew.”

While it doesn’t say it explicitly, my first thought is Cyborg. The CW might just want to be coy with the information right now. On the other hand, it could be someone else entirely.

A previously released cast listing for the character also describes him as: “a regular, street smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers, and then, as part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations.”

Whoever he’s playing, he joins a big group which already consists of Brandon Routh’s Atom, Victor Garber’s Dr. Martin Stein, Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell’s Heat Wave, Caity Lotz’s Canary, Ciara Renée’s Hawkgirl, and Arthur Darvill’s Rip Hunter.

Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Marc Guggenheim and Sarah Schechter will executive produce and the show is expected to debut as a mid-season premiere in 2016.
