Charles Schulz’s iconic comic strip gets a brand new animated film this fall and the second official trailer has been released! You can watch it below.
Peanuts is no stranger to the animated treatment, with beloved classics like A Charlie Brown Christmas and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, but this new film, simply titled The Peanuts Movie, will be embraced by a whole new generation.
It’s clear from the three-minute long trailer that our favorite characters haven’t changed a bit and its endearing tone is a testament to keeping this film in the family. Charles Schulz’s son, Craig Schulz, produces and co-writes with his son, Bryan Schulz.
Just as exciting are the voice talents in the film. Bill Melendez continues his great work as Snoopy and Woodstock, thanks to archival recordings.
The rest of the cast includes Noah Schnapp (Charlie Brown), Hadley Belle Miller (Lucy van Pelt), AJ Tecce (Pig-Pen), Noah Johnston (Schroder), Venus Schultheis (Peppermint Patty), Alexander Garfin (Linus van Pelt), Francesca Capaldi (Little Red-Haired Girl), Mar Mar (Franklin), Mariel Sheets (Sally Brown) and Rebecca Bloom (Marcie).
The film will follow two storylines: Charlie Brown trying to talk to the Little Red-Haired Girl who’s new in town and Snoopy facing his arch-rival, the Red Baron.
It’s perhaps a risk to bring such beloved characters to the big screen but you’d be hard-pressed to watch the trailer below and not smile. It’s exactly like the comic, from Charlie Brown’s nervousness to Lucy’s loud personality and Snoopy’s plucky attitude.
All of your favorites are here and the new, 3D animation is simply stunning. It’s time for this fresh take, while still holding all the classics close to our hearts, and we’re excited to see the new film. It’s sure to be a hit.
Directed by Steve Martino, The Peanuts Movie is scheduled to hit theaters on November 6, 2015.
