Fox’s next mutant film, X-Men: Apocalypse, is deep into production and director Bryan Singer continues to be a massive presence on social media. However, he’s not the only one!
Olivia Munn, who was cast as mutant Psylocke, posted a fun video to her Instagram account yesterday:
Is it just me, or are those some seriously impressive skills? I’m not sure if Munn’s had experience with swords before, but she looks great here. It’s not clear if the sword she’s handling is real, but there’s a glint on the blade which makes me think it might be.
The sword Munn is handling is a katana, which is one of Psylocke’s signature weapons. In the comics, she’s able to create a telekinetic katana and I hope we’ll get to see that as well in the movie.
Apocalypse is so far a crowded a film and there’s no way to say how it’s shaping up so far, but this video has me excited to see what else will be in store. It’s set to hit theaters on May 27, 2016 and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Alexandra Shipp, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Olivia Munn, and Oscar Isaac.
