Rejoice: Deadpool Red Band Trailer Has Arrived

Are you ready? Because it’s here. The red band Deadpool trailer. (Warning, folks, that means explicit language, violence, some nudity, and fourth-wall humor that you might not be able to handle lies ahead.)

*screaming in the distance*

That’s what I thought.

Ryan Reynolds stopped by Conan last night to debut the trailer for his upcoming film and the world shed a collective tear of happiness.

The trailer is the same one shown at this year’s Comic-Con, but now in glorious hi-definition, which makes it even better. It briefly chronicles the origins of Wade Wilson, who becomes Deadpool after being treated for cancer.

There’s plenty of quips (“And please don’t make the supersuit green. Or animated.”), violence, a look at the relationship between Wade and Vanessa Carlysle aka Copycat (played by Morena Baccarin), and some excellent exchanges with TJ Miller as Weasel. Also Colossus. COLOSSUS.

The heavens shone down upon us and said: “Let there be Deadpool.” And Ryan Reynolds gave us Deadpool, with the most perfect voice and performance imaginable. And this is just the trailer!

In all seriousness, though, after the disappointment people faced in the movie-that-must-not-be-named, this is exactly what we needed. It’s clear how dedicated Reynolds is to the role and how effortlessly he feels like Deadpool. So far it’s paid off and I can’t wait to see more.

Deadpool is set to hit theaters on February 12, 2016. It’s directed by Tim Miller and stars Ryan Reynolds, Ed Skrein, TJ Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, and Morena Baccarin.

What do you think of the trailer? On a scale of one to CHIMICHANGAS, how are excited are you for this film? Let us know!
