At the beginning of the year, Jeff Wadlow and Terry Rossio turned in a script to Sony for a Masters of the Universe reboot.
Now, according to Variety, the studio has tapped Christopher Yost to do a rewrite of the script.
It makes sense, given Yost’s familiarity with big, buff, blonde heroes. After all, he helped pen the scripts for Thor, Thor: The Dark World, and will be taking on Thor: Ragnarok as well.
The story mainly revolves around the hero He-Man (whose alter ego is Prince Adam) and the evil Skeletor on the planet Eternia. The popular cartoon ran from 1983-85 and inspired the cult hit movie starring Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella in 1987.
Now we’re getting a second cinematic shot at the franchise!
