DC’s TV universe gets larger and larger and now we have our first official look at two new, upcoming characters: Hawkgirl and Hawkman!
From the upcoming winter show Legends of Tomorrow, a spin-off from Arrow and The Flash, come two of DC’s most famous and long-lasting heroes and lovers.
Are you ready to see them? Because they look awesome.
Right. RIIIIIIIIIIIGHT.
You might notice neither of them have their massive, epic wings but I’m hoping that’s simply because The CW is saving those for a jaw-dropping moment on television. Or they’ve updated the wings somehow and want to keep them hush-hush. Either way, I think this first look is fantastic.
We first saw Ciara Renée as Hawkgirl aka Kendra Saunders in The Flash Season 1 finale, but this is our first look at her in costume.
She’ll be joined by Falk Hentschel as Hawkman aka Carter Hall to join a team led by Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) to take on Vandal Savage (Casper Crump).
Hawkgirl and Hawkman are Egyptian beings whose hawk powers derive from the god Horus who is typically depicted as a falcon/hawk-headed man.
It’s likely we’ll see them on The Flash and/or Arrow first but then they’ll really get into the action with Legends of Tomorrow, which is set to debut on The CW in early 2016 as a midseason series.
