One of the most talked about movies at D23 Expo was The Jungle Book. Guests gushed about its breathtaking CGI and wonderful performances, specifically from Bill Murray’s Baloo and Christopher Walken’s King Louie.
Now, we finally have a look at the latest Disney live-action remake for ourselves. Check out the trailer below!
While we don’t get the aforementioned clips of Murray and Walken, we do get some other very exciting scenes.
The trailer is built around a voice-over by Scarlett Johansson’s Kaa, a sinister Indian Python, who speaks to Mowgli (Neel Sethi) under the pretense of protecting him until we finally see the snake at the end of a trailer in an epic reveal as she utters the famous line: “Trust in me.”
Otherwise the trailer is a compilation of gorgeous shots and CGI. Mad Max: Fury Road’s practical effects were thrilling, but this trailer is proof that the future of cinema and technology is equally as exciting.
From Bagheera the black panther (Ben Kingsley) to the sloth bear Baloo and orangutan King Louie coming to life, there’s only one thing to do as you watch this trailer: marvel.
Plus you can be assured the film will also have epic action, if the fight scenes between Bagheera and the Bengal tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba) are anything to go by.
Lastly, if you’re sad (like me) that you don’t get to hear Murray as Baloo, you’ll still smile over the last shot of the trailer: Mowgli sitting on Baloo’s stomach as they float down a river at the end of The Bare Necessities – which, yes, Murray will be singing in the new film!
The Jungle Book, directed by Jon Favreau and starring Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, Giancarlo Esposito, and Neel Sethi, is set to hit theaters April 15, 2016.
Tell us: are you as excited about this trailer as we are? Who are you most looking forward to?
