CBS’ brand-new Supergirl series debuts tonight and it’s already getting good reviews.
Seriously, if you’re in doubt of checking this show out, don’t be. Mark Hamill would be so disappointed.

If the Joker himself can’t convince you, CBS released seven clips from tonight’s pilot as well as a behind the scenes video to get you excited. Watch them below!
The show follows Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), Superman’s cousin, as she flees Krypton at the same time as the infant Superman. She’s taken in by the Danvers family, including older sister Alex (Chyler Leigh), and keeps her powers a secret. At 24, she’s living in National City and working for Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart), a big media mogul. When she’s recruited by Hank Henshaw (David Harewood), head of a super-secret agency where her sister also works, she must assume the mantle of hero.
The clips show a lot of fun scenes from the pilot, including Kara (Melissa Benoist) trying to find the perfect costume with her friend Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) as well as Kara meeting the dreamy James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks).
I was able to see the pilot early over the summer and I can promise you it’s a good time. It has just the right amount of camp, humor, heart, and hope to be a show about Supergirl. Basically, if you like The Flash on the CW, you’re bound to like this as well. Benoist makes a wonderful lead and the supporting cast also give fun performances.
Supergirl airs tonight on CBS at 8:30 pm before moving to its regular slot next Monday, November 2nd, at 8 pm.
