But she won’t be playing Commissioner Gordon, as previously rumored.
Instead, she’ll be taking on the role of mayor to the crime-riddled city of Gotham. This will be her first return to movies since 2013, where she was last seen in Lee Daniels’ The Butler.
She joins an already star-studded cast, including: Will Arnett (Batman), Ralph Fiennes (Alfred), Rosario Dawson (Batgirl), Michael Cera (Robin), and Zach Galifianakis (the Joker).
The film is being directed by Chris McKay with a script by author-screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies). It’s set to hit theaters on February 10, 2017.
