Star Wars: The Force Awakens Set to Break Box Office Records, Lands on the Cover of EW

Is there any doubt that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is going to smash box office records?

There shouldn’t be. It’s the most anticipated film of the year, will be the only film in IMAX theaters for a month, and will have the most screens and showtimes for its opening weekend. According to a report at Collider, its opening weekend is currently set for $225 million. Say goodbye to your $208 million record, Jurassic World.

It will be particularly impressive given a December film has never grossed more than $100 million over its opening weekend. But if any film can do it, it’s this one.

To keep the hype as strong as possible, Entertainment Weekly revealed the covers for this week’s issue and it’s none other than characters from a galaxy far, far away! Check them out!

The issue hits stands this Friday and is going to have a lot of coverage, from the Skywalker twins to the relationship between Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley).

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams and starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, and Max von Sydow is set to come out on December 18, 2015.
