Samurai Jack Coming to Adult Swim’s Toonami in 2016

After over 10 years, Samurai Jack is heading back to Cartoon Network! Adult Swim announced that Genndy Tartakovsky, the creator behind the acclaimed series as well as fan-favorites like Dexter’s Laboratory and the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series, is back to produce a new season for Adult Swim’s Toonami block in 2016.

Since the show went off the air, it’s grown in popularity and maintained a presence as a comic book, becoming something of a cult classic.

Samurai Jack first debuted in 2001 and follows a samurai only known as Jack, who is sent to the distant future by the evil demon Aku. The series earned two Emmys during its run, but was later cancelled in 2004, cutting Jack’s adventures short. Now, Jack’s journey can continue.
