Set to the sounds of an angelic choir, this new trailer pits Charlie Cox’s Daredevil against Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, with the former trying to stop the latter from terrorizing Hell’s Kitchen.
Punisher is out to get vengeance for his family’s deaths, but Daredevil takes issue with how he goes about it.
Interestingly, this is similar to the fight between Daredevil and Season 1’s Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) where the men wanted the same thing – bettering Hell’s Kitchen – but clashed over a difference in execution.
In this case, Daredevil is once again trying to protect Hell’s Kitchen, but this time from a man who doesn’t seem to care what happens to it.
Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen suggests to Matt that perhaps they helped create Punisher, which is an interesting idea to explore. This show is nothing if not challenging.
The trailer ends with Punisher telling Daredevil that he’s “one bad day away from becoming like him” and the audience can’t help but wonder if Daredevil will cross a line this season.
Daredevil Season 2 will arrive on Netflix on March 18.
