We Finally Know Who Martin Freeman Is Playing in Captain America: Civil War

In this day and age, it feels like nothing is kept under wraps re: movies. This can be both a good and a bad thing, depending on how you look at it.

Today, we got a big piece of information about Marvel’s next big film, Captain America: Civil War.

Martin Freeman joined the cast last May, and now we finally know who he’s playing.

The newest issue of Empire is all about the superhero flick and they revealed that Freeman will be playing Everett Ross, a US government agent who mainly operates out of Wakanda, which means he has ties to Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and could show up again in that solo film.

The magazine showed off several new exclusive photos, including one of Ross:

 

It also gives us our first good look at Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter, who was first seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. You’ll notice they’re flanked by a German SWAT team.

Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey. Jr, Anthony Mackie, Jeremy Renner, Daniel Brühl, Chadwick Boseman, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Emily VanCamp, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle, is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
