If Amazon was going to find anyone to replace Patrick Warburton for their reboot of The Tick, they just found the perfect guy.
When you hear the name Peter Serafinowicz, you may not recognize it, but I can assure you that you know this actor – and probably really like him as well.
Known for roles in projects like Shaun of the Dead, Spy, Guardians of the Galaxy, Parks and Recreation, and the voice of Darth Maul in Star Wars, Serafinowicz is a superbly talented and funny actor. As fond as I am of Warburton, the original live-action Tick, I’m already tickled at the idea of Serafinowicz in this role.
A spoof of comic book superheroes, The Tick first appeared in print in 1986, and then went on to star in an animated series, as well as the previously mentioned live-action Fox series, which only lasted nine episodes but gained cult popularity.
Transcendence director Wally Pfister will be directing the Amazon Prime pilot, and Warbuton is signed on to executive produce.
Are you looking forward to The Tick making his way back to television? What do you think of Peter Serafinowicz in the lead role? Sound off in the comments!
