Could We See Familiar Harry Potter Characters in Fantastic Beasts?

The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer screened when I saw The Jungle Book. It was the first time I had ever seen this trailer on the big screen and I got more excited than ever before about this film.

We’re going to see new characters and settings, but still set firmly in the wizarding world we’ve loved for well over a decade (almost two decades) now!

However, we could see more familiar characters as well, according to certain cast members.

When MTV’s Josh Horowitz asked Alison Sudol (Queenie) about references to the Harry Potter time we know, she was coy:

“I wouldn’t say there are a lot, but because it is its own world and it’s also so much earlier, there are people who are alive.”

But Dan Fogler who plays the muggle Jacob, was a bit more forthcoming:

“You do meet… as the stories go along… you… you… I can’t give it away! You will see, you will hear mention of your favorite characters and you may even meet their younger counterparts along the way.”

I can hardly blame him for not letting anything slip, but it’s a curious and telling answer.

When specifically pressed about Dumbledore, who’s the only character mentioned in the trailer we’ve seen beforehand, he simply proclaimed “I take the Fifth!” Interesting, Fogler, very interesting…

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, directed by David Yates and written by J.K. Rowling, stars Eddie Redmayne, Ezra Miller, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ron Perlman, Colin Farrell, Jon Voigt, Samantha Morton, and Carmen Ejogo, and is set to hit theaters on November 18, 2016.

Which Harry Potter characters do you think we’ll see? Who do you want to see?
