More Official Character Photos for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Yesterday we brought you the official photographs of the Potters, today it’s the Granger-Weasleys.

Previews for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child begin next week, with the grand opening at the end of the month. For the many millions of us who will not be attending, these photographs are a great way to live vicariously through second-hand accounts.

Noma Dumezweni has been cast as an older Hermione, and she’s looking very pragmatic and sensible. J. K. Rowling was overjoyed when Dumezweni was cast, as “she really gets Hermione inside out.”

Paul Thornley is a nice contrast to Dumezweni as Ron; he looks appealingly cheerful and disheveled. Ron is the same as ever, according to Rowling, “except that his feet hurt a bit more.” No doubt he will still be funny and loyal to the core.

Hermione and Ron’s daughter Rose will be played by Cherrelle Skeet. Rowling commented on Rose’s character, saying “[she] is ambitious, obviously, her mum is Hermione so she’s got a lot to live up to. … Cherrelle plays her perfectly: bossy but deeply lovable.”

Further photographs of the remaining characters are expected later this week. UPDATE: Photos of Draco Malfoy, and his son Scorpius have been released on Pottermore.

The script is being published for a July 31 release this year, coinciding with both Harry and Rowling’s birthdays.

What do you think of the Granger-Weasleys and the cast as a whole? Sound off below!
