Domhnall Gleeson and Margot Robbie Join Film About Winnie the Pooh Author

So it looks like there are two live-action Winnie the Pooh movies.

The Disney project, to be written and directed by Alex Ross Perry, still has very little info to go off of, but the Fox Searchlight production is moving ahead and just cast its two main stars.

Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Ex Machina) and Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street, Suicide Squad) will star as author and creator of Winnie the Pooh A.A. Milne and his wife, Daphne, respectively.

These are two extremely talented actors; I’m eager to watch them in just about anything, this included.

Simon Curtis directs the film, with a script by Frank Cottrell Boyce and Simon Vaughan, which details Milne’s relationship with his son who inspired the stories in the first place.

The books brought comfort to England after World War I, but what effect did the stories’ success have on the family?

The film is titled Goodbye Christopher Robin and is currently in pre-production.

Are you looking forward to this film? Sound off below!
