Today’s kids have it good! Those of us who grew up in the pre-digital age only had our imaginations to rely on to create larger than life adventures. And while that was all well and good, I just know that we would have been over the moon with the chance to use special effects technology to enhance our play time.
Star Wars Studio FX will soon be premiering an app that kids young and old alike can use alongside their Rogue One: A Star Wars Story merchandise and action figures. The app allows users to create short films of their toys and then elevate the footage with special effects. There will be 30 effects in total, ranging from X-Wing laser fire strikes to your favorite droids making an animated appearance.
Each Hasbro Rogue One: A Star Wars Story toy will feature a QR code on the packaging that can then be scanned with your phone to unlock new VFX. If you only feel like purchasing one or two new Rogue One toys, never fear! You can also unlock VFX in the app using in game currency. Don’t worry; you don’t have to pay real money to purchase it. The currency can be earned by making new movies within the app!
Star Wars Studio FX will be launching this incredible new app on iOS and Android later this month. And starting on September 30th Hasbro will be debuting their new collection of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story merchandise.
