New Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Movie Posters Focus on Character

Rogue One Character Posters

If there is anything in the world of popular culture as exciting as the first Star Wars spin-off movie coming out in a little over a month, I don’t know what it is. In December, we will finally get a look at how Disney will handle the expanding of the Star Wars cinematic universe. From the look of the trailers, it’s a safe bet that this is going to be an excellent entry into the world of Star Wars with enough nostalgia and new characters to forge a chapter that is worthy of its name. While that judgement may be jumping the gun a little, Lucasfilm has shown us a little more about the new film with the release of the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story character posters.

Most people have seen the landscape poster, that shows the Death Star looming over the horizon, and more recently the poster that shows the full ensemble cast that will steal the Death Star plans, and our hearts. But more focused posters were recently revealed that show close up shots of the heroes and villains of Rogue One in better detail.

From Rogue One‘s very own Katniss Everdeen, Jyn Erso (played by Felicity Jones) to the traitor Imperial enforcer droid, K-2SO, to not-Admiral Thrawn, Director Orson Krennic (played by Ben Mendelsohn) and many in between are featured on these new posters. Each character is bathed in the blue light of what appears to be the plans of the Death Star on their faces.

Granted, it doesn’t take much to get the public excited about Star Wars, but these posters show that the franchise is still focusing on the most important element of its formula: character.
