After it’s first full season on FOX, The Gifted has been renewed for a second season. The X-Men series was well received after its first run of 13 episodes (which concludes with a 2-hour finale on January 15, 2018). Staying with the FOX network news, The X-Files also began its 11th season this past week with the premiere episode of its 10 episode installment. Star Gillian Anderson has gone on the record stating that this would be her final season of the show, which implies it could be the end of the series going forward. Over on the HBO side of things, Game of Thrones will return in 2019 for its 8th and final season. The series will conclude with only six episodes, but each episode will be feature length in runtime.

Casting & Sequel News

Marvel’s Captain Marvel film starring Brie Larson as the title character added a supporting role with DeWanda Wise. Her role is currently unknown but most speculation is leading fans to believe/hope she’ll be portraying Monica Rambeau. The film will be set in the 1990s and also star Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, and Jude Law and will debut on March 8, 2019. After mixed reviews, Netflix’s Bright has been greenlit for a sequel that will see both Will Smith and Joel Edgerton return. The fantasy/buddy cop film was a fun ride with a different take on the serious divide in our current society’s views on race relations.

Batman & Robin &… Bartman?
