Toy of the Week Podcast: Jurassic World Real Feel Skin Mosasaurus Figure

This is one dino that’s sure to make a splash.

Dinosaur fans, rejoice! This week Adam looks at the extra large Mosasaurus figure from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. You don’t really see as many aquatic dinosaur figures these days, which is a shame since this creature is amazing.

The scale-like detail is superb, and the interior painted mouth and articulated tail help add to the overall play value. You can actually position the fins to act more like feet by maneuvering them to essentially prop this bad boy up. This figure also features a nice amount of articulation for its size: the fins can rotate and bend both inwards and outwards – an impressive feat for any figure, much less a giant aquatic dino.

The details on this Mosasaurus are astoundingly realistic – straight down to the real feel skin and highly moveable jaw. Similar to the original Kenner Jurassic Park toys in the early 90s, the plastic has a certain hollow feeling that helps the design look more fluid and feels a bit more premium in hand.

Second only to the Colossal T-Rex in size, this dinosaur figure is pretty mammoth. Fortunately, the box it comes in is significantly smaller due to the attachable pieces. Note that some assembly is required (like the fins and tail), but when put together this dino really looks the part.

To learn more about the Mosasaurus, and to hear about all the great JP toys still in stock, be sure to have a listen to the latest Toy of the Week Podcast below. Till next week!
