San Diego Comic-Con 2019: Wrestlers, Ghostbusters, and Scary Clowns Invade Day 1

With Preview Night in the rearview, we woke up today to the hustle and bustle of the official Day 1 of San Diego Comic-Con 2019. The 5oth anniversary of this celebration of all things Geek and Nerdy kicked off with huge guests within the confines of the storied Hall H and Ballroom 20 arenas. But on the con floor, we saw more collectibles previewed and witnessed a WWE invasion as superstars like Becky Lynch and Rey Mysterio were making the rounds. Before Becky can break our arms, let’s dig into the biggest news of the day.

Tales from Hall H & Ballroom 20

The excitement kicked off early today with the debut of the trailer for IT: Chapter Two. Fans also got their first look at upcoming sequels like Jay and Silent Bob Reboot and Top Gun: Maverick with the returning Tom Cruise. The cast and crew of Terminator: Dark Fate jumpstarted the action from Hall H with their panel. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes, Diego Boneta, and director Tim Miller were on the panel. Miller told fans that while fans probably didn’t want to see another Terminator movie, he felt Sarah Connor’s story was unfinished. It was also confirmed that Edward Furlong would be returning to play John Connor.

Hall H also featured a reunion of sorts. It was the 20th anniversary of Batman Beyond hitting the airwaves. Voice actors Kevin Conroy and Will Friedle along with producer Bruce Timm and casting director Andrea Romano shared their memories of the series and announced the new Blu-ray box set for release in late October along with a limited edition box set that will include a Batman Beyond chromed Funko Pop! and other special features.
