Heads up, Pixar fans! The first official theatrical trailer for Inside Out has landed! The film is set to follow an adolescent girl named Riley as she faces growing up.
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco.
Two months ago, the teaser trailer for the upcoming film Inside Out introduced fans to 5 emotions that will star as characters in a movie based on the complexities of the human brain. In this extended look, we meet these characters during a typical family dinner. Emotions play out (and even butt heads) between a father (Kyle MacLachlan), a mother (Diane Lane), and their daughter Riley (Kaitlyn Dias).
With adorable stylized characters who represent the emotions in all of us, this film is gearing up to resonate with children and reconnect adults with their childhood emotions. By meeting both the parents’ and Riley’s emotions, the audience gets a good look at the basis for the film. Clueless dad’s male emotions interact with worried mom’s female emotions to communicate with their daughter – whose emotions mimic both her parents’ emotive characters. Seeing arguments from inside the head is new, so we’re thrilled to discover what lies ahead.
Riley, just like all of us, is guided by her emotions. Inside Out takes us inside her mind to see her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) – as they advise Riley through everyday life.
This major emotion picture hits theatres on June 19, 2015, accompanied by the short “Lava.”
